Red Spot Coaching exists to assist clients facing redundancy or career issues. We can provide face to face coaching in Birmingham, or telephone or Skype coaching where it is more convenient. Indeed clients have come from as far afield as Yorkshire and Wiltshire.

About Iwan Thomas

One of the biggest problems in my career came when I finished my business degree, and was applying for jobs. It took over a year to find something, during which time my motivation slipped, and I was burning through my resources. I was generally not having a good time. Changing career direction did not help. The longer I went on, the more I had to explain the gap in my CV.

I had lost the support of my fellow students going through the same process, and there was limited help available because career coaching did not really exist. I did get some help from a former colleague of my father.

I tended to take a “here I am, take me as I am” approach, rather than selling myself. I did not prepare properly for interviews, so rarely got beyond first interview. I wish I had know then what I know now.

Fast forward to a successful career change managing law firms and another as a coach.

I am professionally trained in coaching, including career coaching, I also have personal experience of redundancy, job hunting and career change.

I previously acted as a volunteer mentor to those moving from unemployment to setting up businesses. This was organised through the Black Country Chamber of Commerce.

My commitment to professional standards led me to the International Coach Federation, and I subscribe to their Code of Ethics.

Charity of the Year

Our Nominated Charity of the Year is Kids Club Kampala (http://www.kidsclubkampala.org) who do great work giving a future to kids in Kampala, Uganda. We do this in conjunction with our sister firm Iwan Thomas Associates. Over the course of the year we will hold several events to support them.
