Have you seen our new employability packages?
We have just introduced an employability assessment (Carrus). This measures the attributes which make people more attractive to employers, and produces a report suggesting areas which can be developed. It is particularly useful for school and college leavers and new graduates, but can be used for all ages.

Career Ladder or Career Lattice?
An interesting concept via Forbes. The straight line career for life is increasingly a thing of the past. Instead your career may involve moving sideways, diagonally and even sometimes downwards in order to move forwards. And it is difficult to pull a lattice up after you.
Of course, some future careers do not exist yet, so career management and skills development will be key.

Skills in short supply – recruits have advantage
For a dozen years I have been at meetings moaning about the shortage of skills. Given the current low level of unemployment, if you have the necessary skills, you should be offered higher pay. You should also be able to negotiate a better package. If you have more than one job offer, you are laughing.
